There is a solid and healthy competitive spirit at Mater Dei. Our athletic programs offer the boys opportunities to further develop leadership skills and learn the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, effort and humility. We require the boys in the Upper School to try a different sport each season and our Lower School students have P.E.  every morning. The ancillary benefit of the athletic program is that our boys are able to return to class and better focus on the rigors of their academic schedule.
